Join Transportation officials, government and members of the academic community at Ohio Transportation Engineering Conference — one of the nation’s largest transportation conferences. The conference features exciting speakers, technical sessions and an exhibition hall. Meet other professionals in your specialty area and share stories of innovation and transportation.

Below you will find facts and information outlining the conference:

OTEC 2014 marks the 68th annual meeting of this statewide conference. The Ohio Transportation Engineering Conference is a two-day event attended by over 3,000 people nationally. OTEC is co-sponsored by the Ohio Department of Transportation and The Ohio State University, and the conference is organized to provide something for everyone interested in Ohio’s transportation industry. The program tries to address the latest policy and technical information, as well as covering new ideas in transportation policy, planning, environmental, design, construction, maintenance, operation, local government, and management of transportation resources.

Who should attend?

Engineers, government officials, professors, researchers, regional planners, consultants, contractors, students*, industry representatives, and anyone with an interest in transportation. In 2013, the attendees fell into five broad categories:
contractor/industry professionals, government officials, consultants, students and university personnel and ODOT employees.

Students can attend OTEC sessions as well as visit the exhibit displays to gain a first-hand look at how the various aspects of the industry interact and support each other. The best part of all of this, conference registration is “free” to students with a valid student identification.

Where is OTEC held?

OTEC is held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, 400 N. High St., Columbus, Ohio. The 1.7 million square foot convention center has been hailed as a masterpiece in post modern architecture. Designed by Peter Eisenman, between 1989 and 1993, the Center pleases the eye with designs reminiscent of the older brick buildings located near the facility. The Hyatt Regency Hotel, which is attached to the Convention Center, is the host hotel for 2014.
